Investigators visited a Norfolk, VA PETA shelter in July 2010, and they found out that it wasn't exactly a shelter at all. A few animals were kept there, but it wasn't open for adoption, it was for euthanasia. 94% of the animals that were at the shelter were euthanized and 90% were euthanized within the 24 hours they were taken in. The spokesman of PETA addressed this subject, ... somewhat? When he tried to explain as to why this is happened, he started to say how KFC and other fast food restaurants kill out of greed and apparently they do it out of sympathy. Hard to believe when you see the percentages.
